How to Use Free Camera in Euro Truck Simulator 2

While playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, the free camera mode allows you to scout traffic ahead, take better screenshots, or even teleport your truck to another location. Free Camera is not a mod, but a developer feature. To use it, you need to enable developer mode and the console in the game’s startup settings.

Step 1: Enable Developer Mode
Open the file: Documents > Euro Truck Simulator 2 > Config.cfg using Notepad.
Press CTRL + F to open the search box and type “developer”.
Locate the line:

uset g_developer "0"

Change the 0 at the end to 1.

Step 2: Enable the Console
Next, search for “console” in the same file.
Find the line:

uset g_console "0"

Change the 0 to 1, save the file, and launch the game.

Step 3: Activate Free Camera
While driving in-game, press the “0” key on your keyboard (highlighted in orange in the layout) to enter camera mode.
Use the NumPad keys (highlighted in green) to move the camera:

8 → forward, 6 → right, 4 → left, 2 → backward

You can adjust the camera’s height and angle using the mouse.

With this setup, you can move the camera to any height you like in the game
